Superstar Mammootty is a big name not only in Kerala, but also overseas.

Especially, when compared to other countries, his fans are plentiful in Dubai, as it has a large number of Keralites.

The final episode of the popular reality show ‘Mammootty: The Best Actor Award 2009’ was organized in Dubai by Asianet. And to be more specific this is the first time in the history of Malayalam Television Channels, that a programme is named after a living legend like Mamookka.

The big mess started only after nearly fifteen thousand fans tried to enter a venue which could have room for only seven thousand people. Fans tried to gatecrash into the venue, leaving several people injured in a stampede.

The Dubai police had a tough time controlling the mob, as the 70-member security staffs were ineffective to manage the huge crowd. Almost immediately, the Dubai police was called and they ran to safe guard the Malayalam Superstar from his over-excited fans.

What to say? A good plan turned into heartbreak…
